Daily update is a key organisational communication tool that fosters alignment, engagement, and trust by keeping teammates on the same page about organisational activities and initiatives. They can be delivered via email, app notifications, brief meetings, or platforms like tchop(tm). These updates are short and focused on the day’s priorities or developments, and they can be tailored to different employee groups based on their roles.
When a user subscribes to your Action’s daily updates, they receive a notification on their device that opens a conversation where you can deliver personalized content for them. To do so, you must first configure one of your Action’s intents as the triggering intent for this feature. To personalize the content of that conversation, collect custom parameters from the user when they register for your daily update by adding them as arguments in your response. The instructions for doing so vary depending on whether you use Dialogflow or the Actions SDK.
Once you’ve configured the triggering intent for your daily updates, make it clear to your users how to subscribe by offering a quick prompt mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip at the end of their interaction with your Action. Don’t overdo it with suggestions to subscribe, though; if you offer the option too often, your user may grow accustomed to receiving it and forget to invoke your Action again. Also, be sure to show them the value of your Action before prompting them to subscribe.
