To ensure that the late-breaking sessions are truly late-breaking, all abstracts are subject to the same review criteria as other presentations and papers at CHI 2025 (originality, innovation, significance/relevance). The only exception is that late-breaking works cannot contain data previously presented at a national meeting within the US or accepted for publication in any online or PubMed indexed venue at the time of abstract submission. Abstracts that contain such results may be subject to abstract withdrawal.
Late Breaking Abstracts can be submitted for a poster session or for oral presentation at the conference. Authors submitting a late-breaking abstract for an oral presentation must be available to attend the conference and present their work in person. (A co-author may present if the presenting author is not able to be there.) Presenters of accepted late-breaking posters will be asked to submit a full paper for inclusion in the “HCII 2025 – Late Breaking Papers” Springer LNCS volumes that form part of the conference proceedings.
The top-scoring late-breaking scientific abstracts will be offered the opportunity to present their research during a platform session, in which they will have 12 minutes for their talk plus 3 minutes for questions. This is the same format as that used for oral presentations of regular scientific abstracts at SLEEP conferences. If selected, acceptance is contingent on the Presenting Author completing the financial disclosure and registering for the annual meeting by Tuesday, June 17. Poster printing, travel/hotel accommodations and fees are the responsibility of the Presenting Author.
